How to make an appointment

At Dyneley House Surgery, we aim to provide our patients with rapid access to professional medical advice. We achieve this by operating a telephone triage service for all urgent, (same-day) appointment requests.

We offer:

  •  Prompt telephone assessment and advice for urgent problems
  • Immediate assessment by telephone for emergency problems
  • Urgent same-day face-to-face appointments (if required) following GP telephone assessment
  • Telephone appointments with your own GP
  • Routine face to face appointments with your own GP

Same Day Appointments

Telephone the Surgery appointments line. The Receptionist will ask for your contact details, and place you on the triage list.

Duty GP will telephone you back; usually within 30 minutes, however at certain times this may take up to two hours. Please tell the Receptionist if you think the problem is an emergency, so that the Duty GP can speak to you immediately.

If it is inconvenient for you to take a call at certain times, please tell the Receptionist when you will be available.

Telephone Appointments with your own GP

Usually at 2-5 days notice

Suitable for:

  • Medication reviews
  • To discuss abnormal test results
  • For routine medical advice

Can be booked directly via reception:

  • by phone
  • on-line
  • in person at the surgery reception

Routine GP Appointments and all Nurse and Health Care Assistant Appointments

Can be booked directly via reception:

  • by phone
  • on-line (GP and nurse appointments only)
  • in person at the surgery reception

Routine GP appointments are often booked up several weeks in advance. If your problem is more urgent, the receptionist will put you on the triage list and Duty GP will call you back. The doctor will advise you as needed.

Please note: We will try to book you with your own GP whenever possible but for more urgent appointments this is often not feasible.

We will also try to accommodate your wishes regarding the time of your appointment but please remember that we have to prioritise according to clinical need.
