DyneleyDevelopment1

We are delighted to present our plans to redevelop Dyneley House Surgery. We are hoping to submit our proposals for planning permission soon, and would like your support in continuing to deliver high quality primary care services for our patients in Skipton.

DyneleyDevelopment2

The current building at Dyneley House is old and too small and does not provide the best environment for either our patients or our staff. We want to provide the highest standard of care for patients and this will only be possible from newer and larger premises.

DyneleyDevelopment3

We have nearly 15,300 registered patients, and anticipate that this is likely to increase to around 20,000 over the next ten years.

The size of the practice now is 750 sq metres. Figures from NHS England suggest that the practice should be at around 1,400 sq metres now and around 1,900 sq metres to serve a list size of 20,000 patients.

We need to expand if we are to continue to be able to provide high quality care to our patients.

What are your plans?

There are two components to our plan. The first is to build a major extension to the rear of the surgery. This will double the size of the practice and will provide additional consulting rooms, rooms that can be used by local community groups as well as improved facilities for our staff.

The second element of the plan is to reconfigure the existing building, moving our administration staff to Dyneley Barn and modernising and reconfiguring the main practice.

We are developing proposals to present for planning permission soon.

The drawings show what the new practice might look like.

How much will this cost?

This will be a major redevelopment of Dyneley House Surgery and a large investment in primary health services for the people of Skipton. We expect that the extension to the surgery will cost around £3 million and that the reconfiguration of the current building will cost around £250,000.

How will you pay for this?

We are discussing with NHS England options for funding to support this ambitious redevelopment. We are hopeful that we will receive funding to begin work on the modernisation of the current building. We aim to secure planning permission for the extension so that we can move quickly if funding becomes available.

There won’t be enough car parking?

There will be a reduction in the amount of parking space available on the site. However, as we are based in the town centre there are other parking options available nearby and people can travel to surgery by public transport.
